The influence of improper hot-melt temperature on the performance of PE pipe fittings
Hot-melt connection, as the main connection method for PE pipe fittings, temperature control is a key factor in ensuring the quality of the connection.
When the heating temperature is inappropriate, the molecular chains cannot fully penetrate and combine, resulting in welds with insufficient connection strength. Further reducing the pressure resistance of the pipe fittings, when the heating temperature is too high, the PE material will undergo excessive melting and even degradation. High temperatures will also cause carbonization of the pipe fittings, reducing the toughness at the connection point, usually around 200℃. During the construction process, the end faces of the pipe materials should be flat and clean, and the cooling process should ensure the cooling time to avoid moving the pipe fittings before the material has completely solidified, to prevent affecting the connection quality.
